I was tasked with constructing a stage portal in the form of various book bindings for the show. The unlit books were painted pieces of styrofoam, while the lit books were entire boxes we needed to build. We lined the walls of each box with RGBW led strip lights and placed a translucent paper over the box. We then outlined the titles of the books with paint. The lights were connected to and controlled by a pixel decoder allowing the light operator to adjust and change the colors of the lights depending on the scene.
