As Assistant Stage Manager for South Side's Peter and the Starcatcher, I took a major part in helping our director come up with blocking. We needed to design creative ways to convey parts of the story because of the production's minimalist nature. Specifically, that required creating our own version of the infamous 'Tick Tock Croc.' The design used props, lighting, and sound to represent the frightening crocodile. The rope was used to outline the crocodile's large mouth, and actors held lanterns to represent its eyes. The crocodile was also accompanied by a ticking clock, cued by the sound operator.
