I was tasked with designing and constructing a
newspaper cart with the limited time and materials we had. I was able to transform an old broken wheelbarrow into a Newsies cart. In order for it to function effectively, I replaced the axel that the wheels were attached to and designed the tray for storage.

As Dramaturg for this production, I came up with an idea to immerse the audience into the newsboy's strike of 1899. We had the 'newsboys' sell newspapers to the audience members during intermission to raise money for the Drama Guild. I originated and acted as editor in chief of the "Drama Guild Gazette." My team and I utilized the newspaper as an opportunity to promote the performing and visual arts in our school district. We then contacted a local newspaper organization who mentored us through the process and generously printed the papers for free.
In addition to my roles as the Dramaturg and as a Supervisory Scenic Constructor, I was also the principal trumpet player in the pit orchestra.
